It doesn't matter

Success rates of coaches in general are horrible. So if a coach is successful enough to become a multi million dollar a year G5 head coach, he is expected to take a demotion to P5 coordinator in order to be qualified as a P5 head coach? Nah. Don't let recency bias of a specific G5 hire skew your opinion of who is and isn't a good candidate. There are plenty of failures and successes from either pool that could be cherry picked as examples. The constant is the simple truth that the tenure of most coaches comes to an end by firing.
